Barbecue/Austin roadtrip

Joe didn't have to do anything with his mice this weekend, so we finally are going on a little vacation with our little turkey. So far he's only screamed only a few times in the car and was obviously in need of food. Here are pics from Friday and Saturday morning.

This guy's walking!

So beating even my prediction of being a 10-month walker, Teddy decided to start walking at 9 months and one week. On Sunday, the 7th we were playing in his room and he walked from Joe in the love seat around the ottoman, let go, took 4 steps and balanced and then another 4 steps and flopped on the floor. If I ever get on a real computer I will post the YouTube link but for now you'll have to use your imagination.

Booze?

Now that Teddy's old hat at eating mushy foods we thought we'd introduce him to brunch out in Dallas and the glorious breakfast drinks. And what better day than St Patrick's Day?! So voilà, Teddy's first kir! Just kidding. I forgot his bottle to put it in so he could only watch me drink it ;) He did try to play with the glass as he loves grabbing anything new he can get his hands on to shove in his mouth!

Not my favorite, but as Teddy's first fruit, he really liked them. So much that he are an entire tub over the course of the day. Thought this was great until he has the nastiest diaper changes ever! Ugh. So not digging this solid food thing.

Look who's crawling now!

Yep, little Tman is mobile and now we are so screwed. It was so nice while it lasted that I could plop him down in a room and he wiggle about, but be relatively where I left him. Now he's starting to follow me out of the room! Crazy! I hope to add a video to this post. Hopefully I can figure it out on my phone. If not hopefully I remember to do it when I get home.

Sleep Training: Day 2

So Munchkin Man is off to a rip roaring start to his sleep training! He managed to put himself to sleep tonight in his new crib with a few pats on the back and my lovely voice singing Rockabye Baby. (No, you're not crazy. There is no Day 1 post) Last night, on day 1, he put himself back to sleep a few times by find one of the 6, yes 6, binkies in his crib and parental intervention twice at 11pm and midnight. Then he slept from 12:30am til 5am for his morning feeding. Sadly, this is exciting! I had nearly 5 hours of continuous sleep!

New mattress?

Last night Teddy sat up while sleeping in the bassinet of the pack n play & scared the crap out of me. Of course he decides to do this the night before we were planning to look for mattresses for his crib. We've now removed the bassinet insert and he's sleeping in the bottom until we get the crib assembled and pick a mattress. Teddy had fun testing them out today!

Cereal!

No, I'm not talking about Cheerios. We introduced Teddy to rice cereal Thursday night. He was a trooper and got some in his mouth, which produced hysterical facial expressions of shock and hopefully not displeasure! We've been trying a little bit everyday so hopefully we can start introducing veggies soon. Tman's growing up so fast now!

Teddy got to meet and hang out with his cousin Tyler for the first time. Even though there's a bit of a language barrier, they still bonded over Tyler's talking dump truck.

Now that there's an app for Blogger on the iPhone, my resolution is to post more often since so many pictures are on my cell of Mr. Teddy. So to kick things off, here are some pictures from Christmas!

Holy crap, we have a baby!

It only took me 2 months to put up a new post.  It's amazing how much time a newborn magically uses out of a 24 hour day. Now, at 2 months later, we're slowly getting into a routine of some sort, but just as you think you're getting a hang of it, it all changes again!  Anywho, here are some of my favorite pictures from the last few months and hopefully I'll figure out how to edit video and get some of those posted as well.

One more 'photo shoot' before I'm almost fully cooked! It really looks like I have a torpedo coming out of my belly.  What's nice is that in the photos I look a lot less 'fluffy' than I feel- I feel so bloated and puffy that I could just float away, that is if I didn't feel like I weighed 500 pounds. So far I've gained about 40 pounds and it's amazing that I don't look that big at all. This past Friday was the first week I purposefully skipped ballet class.  It was so hard to pick up my legs and balance on my puffy feet the previous week, that I decided to skip and probably won't go back until after the baby arrives.

The baby moves around like gang busters and on a fairly regular schedule. I took a video with my phone of my belly bouncing around.  Need to figure out how to download it and if it looks okay, I'll upload it, though it is of my naked belly, so I may try to video it again while I'm wearing a shirt.

Sleeping well has been cyclical. Thankfully, the last 4 or 5 nights have been pretty good with me being able to see for about 5 hours straight. I'm just hoping that I get a good night's sleep the night before I go into labor. The last thing I want is to be exhausted before any of it even starts.

If I'm still pregnant next week, I'm going to ask our friend Annabel (the one that took the pictures of Joe and I before) if she can take another set of pictures for us. It's so weird going through every day thinking, 'this may be the last time I watch TV without a baby or this may be the last time I enjoy a nice long shower'. Everyone says that it's all worth it, but it's still a bit scary to think that such a dramatic change, bigger than moving to or from Switzerland or even starting college & graduate school, is just around the corner.

-Finally installing the car seat into the blue car- it eats up all the leg room for the passenger in the front seat!

 Today we had our Texas baby shower at the Meddlesome Moth, our local bar/restaurant.  It was really nice to see so many of our Dallas friends together in one place to hang out with us and celebrate the arrival of our little zoo animal. Dr. Jill Larsen, our resident Aussie friend, hosted the party with fun games and a lot of yummy cupcakes (I think I ate 10 over the course of the weekend- no joke!).  Thank you, all, for coming and celebrating with us!!
